Action Nepal is a non-governmental humanitarian organization, established in 2000 AD  with a view to develop the socio-economic status of Nepalese people especially residing in rural area. It has paid its especial attention to work with deprived and marginalized people of the country adopting the methods of optimum utilization of local resources and technology. Action Nepal is seeking energetic, dynamic and result oriented candidates for the following position.


POSITION TITLE: FINANCE & ADMIN OFFICER (FAO) 

PROGRAM: SUAAHARA-II

LOCATION: Dhading District

REQUIRED NUMBER: 1

TERMS: Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Executive Director through Field Coordinator

COLLABORATES WITH: SUAAHARA field staffs and District/Cluster SUAAHARA Team 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

JOB PURPOSE:

The Finance & Admin Officer is responsible for working closely with Sr. Finance & Operation Officer  other field based staff to implement program and activities effectively on time to meet program objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES

  • Conduct financial review of purchase requests, purchase orders and payment requests to ensure compliance with Action Nepal policies and procedures and project budgets according to the limit set in the DIP.
  • Record payment vouchers daily in the Action Nepal accounting system and ensure they are recorded properly in the appropriate batches.
  • Record bank payment vouchers and ensures that all bank transactions are properly and fully documented.
  • Review expense reports (travel expense reports and operational expense reports) for accuracy and completeness and ensure that expense reports have been fully approved before payment
  • Continuously monitor open advance report and follow up on the long outstanding advances.
  • Prepare monthly reporting package MFR.
  • Make necessary arrangement to pay TDS (tax deduction at source) withheld to government on monthly basis.
  • Assist in the training and support of the officers including answering daily questions, training new hires, making field visits, etc.
  • Monitor cash and bank balances and coordinate monthly cash flow requests.
  • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to AN and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required qualification and experience: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/ Business Studies
  • Ability to operate FAMAS accounting software with expert command on Excel.
