Job Purpose:

Under the general supervision of the program coordinator, provide professional technical contribution to disaster preparedness and risk reduction programmes/projects design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis and progress reporting.

Job holder reports to:Program Coordinator

Key job responsibilities:

  • Ensures the effective and efficient implementation of activities within the frameworks of the Disaster Risk Reduction.
  • Enhances project efficiency and effectiveness through provision of technical assistance to the implementation and monitoring of disaster risk reduction.
  • Identify opportunities for incorporating disaster risk reduction and environmental concept and approaches into education system.
  • Coordinates the development of an action plan for capacity building activities in Disaster preparedness and response.
  • Coordinates with team members and with members of the development community, including NGOs, government agencies in the exchange of information relating to DRR.
  • Monitor the implementation of the program activities, keep records and analyze them according to the work plan.
  • Conducts regular field visits to monitor community level activities; prepares reports on results and challenges of project activities.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in Humanitarian Response, Disaster Risk Reduction and related field in, I/NGOs or development organizations.

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Disaster Risk Management, social/Natural sciences or related field

Key job responsibilities:

  • Summary

  • Knowledge management and knowledge sharing
  • Provide advice and support to the Program Coordinator in the Implementation of the key gender components.
  • Provide advice and support to the junior staff working within the respective fields.
  • Monitor and report on the project related gender issues in the region.
  • Coordinates with team members and with members of the development community, including NGOs, government agencies in the exchange of information relating to Gender.
  • Monitor the implementation of the program activities, keep records and analyze them according to the work plan.

  • Support in writing stories related to programme and project developments as they relate to gender equality issues.

Experience

Key job responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement the overall program with its activities in accordance with the goal and strategy of Prayas Nepal.
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
  • Liaison with governmental representatives, partner organization, I/ NGOs.
  • Coordinate and implement Livelihood/Shelter/DRR related programs at VDC level through its strategic partnership.

  • Knowledge of assessment survey, designs, working drawings, construction materials and techniques.
  • Knowledge on Microsoft excel especially for design, estimation and billing purpose.
  • Knowledge of autocad, SAP drawing.
  • Knowledge on disaster risk management, construction in rural areas will be an advantage.
  • Experience on construction of truss type learning centers and/or WASH will be an advantage.

  • Design, drawing, estimation and scheduling of various construction works.
