Forum for Community Upliftment System Nepal (FOCUS-Nepal) Dhading a NGO working in diversified field in Dhading, District. Currently, it is looking for the potential candidates for the following projects:
- Position: Project Co-ordinator – 1 (Mountain Community Development through selected agriculture value chain in upper Dhading” (AVCD) Project funding by NORLHA Helping People in the Himalaya)
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project document which includes establishing producers/marketing groups and developing systems for capacity building interventions for targeted beneficiaries, partnership with private sector service providers for developing appropriate services in Potato and Sheep value chain, coordinating and leading relevant studies and researches, setting up links with private service providers and government institutions, establishing self-financing systems for increasing production and livelihood opportunities to improve socio-economic conditions of the target communities.
Scope of Work
Stationed at the Project Office, the Project Coordinator (PC) will be technically responsible to the Focal Person for AVCD Project at FOCUS-Nepal. S/he will maintain close coordination and linkage with financial supporting partner Norlha and Apeiron (including Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dhading, FOCUS Nepal, DDC, DADO, and VDC). S/he will also seek technical, managerial and programmatic support of the Project Management Team of FOCUS-Nepal.
Major responsibilities of the PC will include, but is not limited to;
- Implement project activities as designed in the technical document and Partnership Project Agreement (PPA) and deliver results as specified in the logical framework,
- Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project document.
- Guide, supervise and lead the AVCD district team in a coordinated way while supporting the project team as a facilitator,
- Travel frequently to project areas and mobilise related stakeholders and beneficiary communities as per the project activities and agreement signed among, NORLHA and FOCUS-Nepal to fulfil the objective of the project.
- Prepare and submit field visit reports, monthly and quarterly project review reports, technical progress reports and financial reports to NORLHA and FOCUS-Nepal.
- Function as coordinator among the district level project team and the Focal Person, FOCUS-Nepal.
- Represent FOCUS-Nepal at different levels of meetings, workshops, for as and when necessary
Minimum Qualification and Other Requirements
Candidates should have:
- B.Sc. in Agriculture or BE in agriculture with more than 2 years experiences in agriculture development project management
- High levels of skills in project planning and management, demonstrated skills in prioritising task and meeting deadlines
- Strong communication, analytical and report writing skills with fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali
- Knowledge and skills in computing, demonstrated inter-personal skills in working with a multi-disciplinary team
- Good knowledge and preferred experience on participatory research/ development approaches, livestock management, community mobilisation, market development and project development and implementation
- Willingness and enthusiasm for working with rural and vulnerable communities living in remote areas of the country
Position based: 1 (based in Northern Dhading) with frequent travel to project VDCs and district HQ.
- Programme Coordinator-1 (PAF Program)
Purpose of the Job:
In general the coordinator will coordinate/facilitate PAF programme in selected VDCs so that COs subordinate and COs can adopt responsive, gender sensitive and equitable system in need identification, programme planning, decision making and benefit sharing process as expected by PAF programme. The coordinator is also performing his duties under guidance from executive committee and advisory team of Focus -Nepal in order to implement PAF programme. The coordinator will perform following roles, duties and responsibilities:

Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the programme document which includes establishing community organization as an institution and developing systems for capacity building interventions for targeted people, collaboration with district and local level stakeholders, government institutions for increasing production and livelihood opportunities to improve socio-economic conditions of the target community.
Major responsibilities of the PC will include but not limited to:
- Involvement in the social mobilize/supervisor selection process,
- overall coordination and the management of the PAF programme
- Closely liaison and coordination among concerned stakeholder in district level with DDC, Line agencies, NGOs and others
- Support to social mobilizers and supervisors to achieve the objectives of the programme and Focus Nepal
- Training need identification, preparation, facilitation, coordination and support in post training activities of social mobilizers and supervisors,
- support to monitoring and evaluation of the programme to PAF and communicate the information and progress to the Focus-Nepal, PAF and concerned agencies,
- Preparation of plan, budget and implementation in close coordination with the Director of Focus-Nepal PAF and working team of the programme.
- prepare Executive annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project document, monthly and trimester reporting to PAF and Focus –Nepal
- Sharing of learning in different forums,
- Support to COs for the linkage development with other agencies,
- Documentation and dissemination of learning and strategy development to scale up best practices
- Other support provide to the community and working team as per their need and requirement,
- Represent FOCUS-Nepal at different levels of meetings, workshops, for as and when necessary
Scope of the Work

S/he will maintain close coordination and linkage with the PAF and Executive Director and Chair person of the Focus-Nepal.
Minimum Qualification and Other Requirements
Candidates should have:
- Bachelor Degree in Development Studies or Management or Social Sciences with at least three years of work experience in related fields or Master Degree (Preferred) in any disciplinary with one years of work experience in related fields.
- High levels of skills in project planning and management, demonstrated skills in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- strong communication, analytical and report writing skills with fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali
- Knowledge and skills in basic computing, demonstrated inter-personal skills in working with the multi-disciplinary team
- Good knowledge and preferred experience on participatory research/development approaches, livestock management, community mobilization, market development and project development and implementation
- Willingness and enthusiasm for working with rural and vulnerable communities living in remote areas of the country
- Contract Period: One year extensively
- Admin/Finance officer-1 ( DDR project funded by Save the Children)
Job Description:
Key responsibility areas and associated tasks:
- Managing staff in the finance department so that all staff perform are able to fulfil their responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Participation in post design, recruitment and selection
- Induction and training of new staff
- Effective delegation, support and follow up
- Maintaining a motivated and effective team
- Periodic establishment of objectives and carrying out regular performance reviews
- Ensuring that necessary financial planning procedures are carried out, including but not limited to:
- Working with and facilitating budget holders in development of their budgets
- Ensuring donor formats and conditions are complied with
- Consolidation and review of budgets
- Cash flow forecasting
- Participating in development and implementation of financing strategy
- Processing transactions, including but not limited to:
- Cash handling – receiving and paying cash
- Issuing invoices, chasing debts
- Ensuring proper control of cheque books and receipt books
- Authorisation of payments and Local Purchase Orders (or other financial commitments)
- Processing payments on time, managing liabilities
- Processing staff working advances (floats) and accountabilities
- Payroll preparation and processing
- Maintaining proper books of account and supporting documents, including but not limited to:
- Establishing appropriate books and records for cash, bank, fixed assets, stocks, debtors, creditors
- Keeping all books up to date
- Carrying out reconciliations to ensure accuracy (eg cash count and bank reconciliations)
- Carrying out frequent data back ups
- Maintaining proper physical files and computer files and folders to enable easy retrieval of information by the organisation and other
- Producing accurate, useful and timely reports, including but not limited to:
- Reports for budget holders, senior management, Board, donors and beneficiaries
- Ensuring good team work and cooperation between finance and programme, including but not limited to:
- Participation in regular project management meetings
- Ensuring programme staff are trained in relevant aspects of financial management
- Ensuring a proper understanding of field operations, including risks and practical limitations.
- Ensuring adequate internal controls are in place
- Ensuring that an annual audit is always carried out in good time
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) with at least 3 years experience in NGO Accounting.
- Masters in Business Studies(preferred)
- Excellent Knowledge of FAMAS Accounting Software.
- Must have excellent communication and writing skills
